2016 Presidential Race Not Exactly on Everyone’s Radar
Published at(WASHINGTON) — Are Americans getting revved up about the upcoming 2016 national election?
Not exactly, according to a new Pew Research Center poll which gauges voter interest in the race to elect a new president.
Although 58 percent of registered voters say they’ve given at least some thought about the various potential White House contenders, it’s hardly a tidal wave of interest.
For example at this point in 2007, 68 percent said they had thought about the 2008 election.
Nonetheless, 87 percent of current voters admit they care a good deal about who will next occupy the Oval Office and over seven in ten say they care which party will send their standard bearer to the White House.
