ISIS Increases Misery for Palestinian Refugees
Published at(DAMASCUS, Syria) — ISIS is increasing the misery of Palestinian refugees on the outskirts of Damascus.
The militant group is now in the Yarmouk camp, the group’s deepest foray yet into the Syrian capital.
U.N. spokesman Chris Guinness said on Tuesday conditions are already dire at the camp for the 18,000 people there.
“It was bad and it got worse with the arrival of these armed groups. There’s now intense conflict. People are cowering in their battered homes, too terrified to move,” he said.
Guinness said an immediate “pause” is needed to allow civilians to get out of the camp before it’s too late.
