Jury Deliberations Get Underway in Aaron Hernandez Murder Trial

(FALL RIVER, Mass.) — Jury deliberations began Tuesday in the murder trial of former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez.
Hernandez was a star tight end with a big contract from the New England Patriots when he was charged in the 2013 shooting death of Odin Lloyd, the boyfriend of his fiancee’s sister.
Lloyd was shot six times in an industrial park less than a mile from where Hernandez lived.
Defense attorneys conceded he was there when it happened, but pinned the murder on two other men.
The murder weapon was never found and prosecutors never explained a clear motive.
Lloyd’s murder may have something to do with two shooting deaths in Boston a year earlier, according to prosecutors. Hernandez is expected to stand trial in that case later this year.
