One Injured in Shooting at Georgia Kia Plant
Published at(COLUMBUS, Ga.) — One person was shot in an incident at a Kia plant in Georgia on Tuesday and another was taken into custody.
Sgt. Stewart Smith of the Troup County Sheriff’s office said Wednesday afternoon that the incident was “under control right now,” as authorities were able to take “one shooter suspect into custody and the one victim was life flighted to Columbus Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia.”
Police cleared the plant, Smith said, and did a second sweep as well.
The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that both the shooter and the victim were employees at the plant. The victim was reportedly shot once in the leg.
