A statement from the Federal Aviation Administration on Wednesday morning blamed a pressurization problem. Data from Flightaware showed that the plane descended from 37,000 feet to 10,000 feet in about eight minutes, prompting further fear of a pressure issue.

SkyWest, however, reported no pressure issues in the cockpit. The airline also said oxygen masks did not drop within the cabin.

The flight departed from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport and was due to land in Connecticut’s Bradley International Airport. Instead, the plane safely landed at Buffalo International Airport at 11:40 a.m., the FAA said.

A tweet from SkyWest said that the plane had landed safely, and acknowledged that a passenger had lost consciousness. The other 75 passengers on board were accommodated on another flight, while the airline said it would inspect the plane.
