Two Charged in Florida Spring Break Rape

Bay County Sheriff’s Office(TROY, Ala.) — A pair of Alabama college students have been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a woman on a Florida beach in March.
According to Bay County Sheriff Frank McKeithen, Alabama police discovered cellphone video of the assault while investigating a shooting. Hundreds of people on the beach reveling in Spring Break apparently witnessed the rape, but did not intervene.
The BCSO identified the two men as Delonte’ Martistee, 22, and Ryan Austin Calhoun, 23.
“You need to wake up and see what’s going on,” McKeithen said. “This is what we see every day.”
“These people coming to Panama City Beach,” he added, “think that this is acceptable. This is not acceptable.”
The Panama City News-Herald reports that the two arrested are students at Troy University in Alabama.
“We have got to get control of our beaches,” McKeithen said. “It is not safe for our children to be out there on the beaches when these animals are out there.”
