White House Acknowledges Delays in Cuba Relations
Published at(WASHINGTON) — White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest on Monday acknowledged delays in establishing a new era between Cuba and the U.S.
Earnest would not say when embassies of both nations would re-open, or when Cuba might be taken off the terrorist list.
“It’s not a surprise that after 50 year of isolation, it would take time to rebuild trust,” he said.
Earnest did admit the terrorist list is a Cuban priority that may be holding up progress on diplomatic rapprochement, but added that, “Three months is not much delay after 50 years of estrangement.”
