White House Briefly Locked Down After Child Climbs Under Barricade
Published at(WASHINGTON) — The White House was briefly locked down on Sunday after a young child got through a barricade.
According to the Secret Service, a four-year-old child climbed underneath a bicycle rack on Pennsylvania Avenue. The child and parents were reunited and the child was fine.
The barricades are a recent addition to security after a rash of fence jumpers. They sit on the sidewalk and serve as a buffer between the public and the actual White House fence.
The lockdown occurred just after noon on Sunday.
