Several signs warning “beware of crows” are now posted throughout a shopping mall in Cloverdale, British Columbia, CTV News reports.

Trisha Lawrence told CTV News she has had several run-ins with the winged attackers.

“(The) first couple of times they dive-bombed me,” she said.

Janelle VanderBeek of the Wildlife Rescue Association of British Columbia told CTV News the crows are getting aggressive in defense of fledgling, or baby crows who haven’t learned how to fly yet.

“They’re on the ground, they’re learning how to fly for a certain period of time — sometimes up to two weeks — and parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, everyone will defend the babies,” she said.

VanberBeek added that the aggressive behavior won’t go away anytime soon, as baby season lasts until August.
