REXBURG — Brigham Young University-Idaho will host its annual Education Week from July 30 through August 1. Approximately 70 teachers have been selected from among BYU-Idaho faculty, along with others from the local area and surrounding states. Teachers will address a variety of religious and general topics.
“We’re excited to invite everyone to campus for Education Week again this year,” said Brett Sampson, director of public affairs at BYU-Idaho. “We have so many great teachers and such a spectrum of topics and activities offered. Whether you come on your own, with friends, or with your family, you will find plenty of opportunities to be uplifted and strengthened by this experience.”
Children and youth will once again have the opportunity to participate in Education Week through age-specific classes and activities. Classes taught by experienced, dynamic teachers will be specifically geared towards topics relating to youth ages 12-13 and 14-18. BYU-Idaho students who have been trained to facilitate classroom activities for children will provide learning experiences for children ages 6-8 and 9-11. Parents are also welcome to bring children 5 and under.
Also included in the Education Week schedule are devotional addresses by Clark G. Gilbert, president of BYU-Idaho; Jane Clayson Johnson, journalist and author; and Brad Wilcox, Brigham Young University professor and author.
Education Week is again partnering with BYU-Idaho’s Center Stage performing arts series to provide a performance during the conference. This year, Jason Hewlett – The Entertainer, will perform on Friday. The public is invited to this event; however, special ticket discounts are available to Education Week participants.
Registration for Education Week is now open. The enrollment fee is $35 per individual, and children five and under are free. There is no charge for those participating the in the select classes and devotionals online.
