Annie Leibovitz/Vanity Fair(LOS ANGELES) — A second party has filed suit against Caitlyn Jenner for the Malibu crash in February that left one woman dead.
Jessica Steindorff filed a lawsuit on Monday for personal injury and property damage in Los Angeles Superior Court and is seeking unspecified damages, according to court documents obtained by ABC News.
The lawsuit states that Steindorff was driving in her vehicle at the time of the multi-car pile-up on February 7. The suit claims Steindorff was injured when Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, caused a collision with Steindorff’s vehicle. According to the police report, a Lexus involved in the crash initially rear-ended Steindorff’s car. In all four cars were involved in the crash, police said.
Jenner “was the third car in a multiple rear-end collision,” Sheriff Department Sgt. Philip Brooks said.
Five people were hospitalized with minor injuries, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
Jenner was first served with a wrongful-death lawsuit in May filed by the stepchildren of the lateKimberly Howe, who also was in the accident and in the white Lexus when she was then hit by Jenner’s vehicle and sent into oncoming traffic, resulting in her death, according to that lawsuit.
The two stepchildren — William Howe and Dana Redmond — allege in the lawsuit that Jenner was “negligent” when her SUV hit Howe’s Lexus, but Jenner’s legal team has already responded in court arguing that Jenner should not be financially responsible to the Howe’s stepchildren and aksing the court to dismiss the case.
Jenner, who was uninjured in the crash, has not been charged in the February crash.
