File photo. Phil Ellsworth/ESPN(NEW YORK) — Australian tennis player Jason Day collapsed Friday afternoon at the U.S. Open in University Place, Washington.
The 27-year-old player is rated tenth in the world and had gotten off to a solid start in the tournament, coming in at 2 under par as he finished his course.
University Place is at an elevation of roughly 200 ft above sea level. Day has a history of battling vertigo, but the cause of this collapse was not immediately known.
