Pope Francis Visits Shroud of Turin

iStock/Thinkstock(TURIN, Italy) — Pope Francis pays a visit to what many believe to be Jesus’ burial cloth.
The Shroud of Turin has been on display in a Turin cathedral since April, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors. The latest? Pope Francis on Sunday who stopped to pray in front of the cloth after greeting a delighted crowd.
The linen cloth shows what appears to be the image of a bearded man with long hair and there’s evidence of crucifixion. Many believers think Jesus was wrapped in this cloth when he was buried.
Experts are skeptical however and say the shroud’s fibers date back to the 14th century, and the cloth may just be medieval forgery.
