IDAHO FALLS — The body of an unidentified man was found on a play structure in Tautphaus Park Sunday morning.

Idaho Falls Police responded to the scene at 10 a.m. The body was found on playground equipment near the tennis courts and the skateboard park. The man was stripped down to his boxers and lying on his stomach. Witnesses said there was blood on the play structure and gravel surrounding the playground.

Authorities have taped off a 2 to 3 acre area surrounding the equipment.

Idaho Falls Police Chief Mark McBride, who was on scene, said the cause of death is still unclear.

A large number of officers and vehicles responded to the incident, which McBride said was typical of a suspicious situation.

Idaho State Police are assisting the police department with the investigation.

Authorities have not released the identity of the victim.
