Dad & daughter surprise mom in a beautiful dance performance

A television ad from Quaker Canada highlighting the importance of spending time with your children has gone viral, racking up nearly seven million views on YouTube.
The ad, titled “The Recital,” features a dad named Michael and his 10-year-old daughter Lauren, who loves to dance. Both of them say that they want to spend more time with each other, so with help from Quaker they come up with a great solution: dance classes.
Together, the father-daughter duo surprises mom with a heartwarming dance performance. “As a parent, you find yourself doing crazy things for your kids,” Michael says in a voice-over at the end. “But we wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Lindsay Ho, marketing manager of Quaker Canada, confirmed to TODAY.com that the people featured in the ad are a real Canadian family — not actors. She said that the wish of Michael, the dad, and his daughter, Lauren, to spend more time together was completely unscripted.
