Shelley man arrested on meth, gun charges

IDAHO FALLS – Police arrested 36‐year‐old Jamaal K. Porter for felony possession of methamphetamine, a felon in possession of a firearm and a Bingham County warrant during a traffic stop.
Porter of Shelley was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
Officers stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of South Utah Avenue around 2:13 p.m. on Sunday. The vehicle was thought to be involved in an earlier shoplifting case.
Porter, who was a passenger in the vehicle, had an outstanding Bingham County warrant. He was also found in possession of a firearm and methamphetamine.
Porter has previous felony convictions.
