IDAHO FALLS — Three new officers were sworn into the Idaho Falls Police Department Wednesday, Sept. 9.

Officers Stetson Belnap, Anthony Cox and Christopher Munoff were officially sworn in by Idaho Falls Mayor Rebecca Casper during a ceremony held at the Idaho Falls Police Department Training Annex.

“These men were hired because of qualities they held that emulated the values within our police department,” Police Chief Mark McBride said in a news release. “We expect a lot of great things out of each and every one of you. But, we will be there with you to help you to obtain those great things.”

Belnap, a 2008 Bonneville High School graduate, said he’s always wanted to be a police officer. He looks forward to being able to serve the citizens of Idaho Falls.

He will graduate from Brigham Young University‐Idaho with his Bachelor’s Degree in sociology in December. He and his wife, Kylee, are expecting their first child in November. They have been married for four years.

Cox, a 2002 Bonneville High School graduate, said he came to love law enforcement thanks to his work in loss prevention at Winco in Idaho Falls. He had the opportunity to become acquainted with many Idaho Falls Police Officers and they encouraged him to apply.

Cox and his girlfriend, Jessica, are the parents of six‐year‐old twins.

Munoff, a Blackfoot native, previously worked as a Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office Reserve Deputy for two years. He said he enjoys the variables of law enforcement as it give him the opportunity to do different things and meet different people daily.

Aside from police work, he enjoys farming, riding horses and competitive powerlifting. He also has his Associates Degree in Instrumentation Engineering from Idaho State University.
