The Falls in Idaho Falls will Disappear Next Week

IDAHO FALLS – The Falls will be out of sight for a few days next week as Idaho Falls Power crews work on City Hydro-power plant initiatives.

On Monday, Oct. 19, workers will begin to fix minor damage along two areas of the dam located in the middle of the Snake River. Concrete damage on the barrier that creates the falls will be replaced and a retaining wall will be reconstructed, according to a news release.

Traffic near the Greenbelt will be routed around the construction zone and the pedestrian foot bridge underneath John’s Hole Bridge at US HWY 20 will be closed.

Construction is expected to be complete by the end of next week.
