Idaho Falls Beauty School has a message: Shut Up and Do Something

IDAHO FALLS – Workers at a local beauty school have decided they would rather help people in the community instead of just talking about doing something.

The Vogue School of Hair & Nail Design at 247 Cliff St. will be offering free haircuts to all veterans on Monday, Dec. 14 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

“We want to honor those who have served our country by giving back,” stylist Hallie Kane told EastIdahoNews.com. “We can do something to help.”

Kane and her colleagues have created a ‘Shut Up and Do Something’ social media campaign using #shutupanddosomething. An Instagram account was created a few days ago and, as of Thursday afternoon, has nearly 1,300 followers.

“We’re tired of everyone talking about helping others and we decided to just do it,” Kane said.

Kane insists the project isn’t designed to bring attention to her and the salon. In fact, she didn’t want us to even mention her name or Vogue for this story.

Vogue plans to do a project, large or small, every month to give back to the community.
