Police identify east Idaho woman killed in Utah crash

WILLARD, UT — Police have identified a Chubbuck woman who died Monday night in a 3-car crash in Box Elder County.

Christine M. Waldemar, 44, was driving north on I-15 and had just crossed into Box Elder County around 8 p.m. when her 2010 Ford Mustang “lost control on the ice,” the Utah Highway Patrol said in a statement.

Police say the Mustang became disabled after hitting a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu ahe driver’s side of the Mustang was exposed to northbound traffic after that collision. That’s when officers report the Mustang was T-boned by a fast-moving 2009 Pontiac.

Waldemar was in extremely critical condition when she was flown to Ogden Regional Medical Center where she later died.

Police say two others were injured in the crash and taken from the scene by ambulance in serious condition.

Snowfall along I-15 in Weber and Box Elder counties caused dangerously slick conditions throughout Monday evening, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
