Person rushed to hospital after being hit by car on Hwy 20 near Ucon

UCON — A pedestrian was rushed to the hospital after being struck by a car on U.S. Highway 20 near milepost 316 Monday evening.
According to Idaho State Police, Hillary Granger, 22, of Sherwood, Oregon was westbound on Highway 20 in a 2000 Ford Explorer around 9:00 p.m. when she swerved toward the median to avoid a pedestrian who was crossing the road.
Police say she lost control, slid into the median and struck another pedestrian who was in the median.
The person was transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. The condition of the victim is unknown.
It’s unclear why the person was crossing the road and why someone was in the median.
Idaho State Police are investigating the accident. More information is expected to be released Tuesday.
