IDAHO FALLS — The latest ratings for east Idaho radio stations are in.

Of the top five stations in the market, the first four are owned by Riverbend Communications — Top 40 station Z103, mainstream rock station Kbear 101, adult hit station KLCE Classy 97, and country station 105.5 and 105.9 The Hawk, according to Eastlan Radio Ratings.

The fifth slot is occupied by KLLP FM Star 98, a Rich Broadcasting station.

Ratings show the four Riverbend stations command the greatest number of listeners within the 18- to 49-year-old age demographic by a large margin. Riverbend management says that coveted position in the marketplace is a significant achievement.

“The ratings show we have a strong listenership who consistently come back to us because we have real people that are given the freedom to express themselves and have fun and be real personalities as opposed to just an announcer,” Riverbend Communications Operations Manager Mike Nelson said.

Radio ratings are derived through survey within a market area. This market includes Bonneville, Bannock, Bingham, Jefferson and Madison counties — a population of 244,100 listeners over the age of 12, according to a news release. The market has 29 stations.

“We’re so lucky and blessed to have an incredible staff that consistently delivers outstanding results and who can clearly identify the needs of their individual audiences,” Riverbend Communications General Manager Bill Fuerst said. “We are always looking at what we do and asking ourselves how to make it better to keep the people of east Idaho up to date.”
