The Yale Fire located about one mile southwest of Sawtell Peak at the head of Hell Roaring Canyon is still smoldering. The fire is burning in a small group of whitebark pine and subalpine fir trees and received some moisture in the past 24 hours. No change in acreage.

The Lanes Creek Fire also received some moisture over the past 24 hours. The fire is located about 10 miles north-northwest of Thayne, Wyoming. The fire has grown from 1.5 acres to 2.0 acres.

Both the Yale and Lanes Creek Fires are being managed to allow fire to play its natural role in the ecosystem. Naturally-occurring fires can increase the health of the forest.
