Thief rams into local gun shop, steals thousands of dollars of firearms

IDAHO FALLS — A thief rammed a truck into Guns N Gear on Utah Avenue early Tuesday morning and then stole thousands of dollars of guns.

The burglary happened around 2:50 a.m., according to Andy Giddings, the general manager for Guns N Gear.

“He backed his truck into the garage door, came into the storage area and then entered the show room,” Giddings tells EastIdahoNews.com. “He filled up a basket with handguns and left in under five minutes.”

Giddings says “thousands and thousands” of dollars worth of handguns were taken. Police say the suspect stole 16 handguns.

Surveillance video captured images of the thief inside the store, and the detectives are investigating.
