POCATELLO — Town & Country Gardens on Oak St. in Pocatello will begin the process of closing its doors with a huge store closing sale starting on August 25th at 9:00 a.m. All merchandise, store fixtures and displays will be on sale.

The store closing is the result of a judge’s decree in a divorce settlement. Although business at the garden center has remained strong, the business must be liquidated to meet the settlement terms.

The business had its beginnings over 100 years ago, in 1904, as Pocatello Greenhouse & Floral. At that time the business was primarily a florist, but evolved over the years to become Pocatello’s premier supplier of trees, shrubs, flowers, mulch, gardening supplies, plant pest solutions, Christmas trees and poinsettias.

In 2001 Dick Chase, a second generation owner, retired and sold the property to John Crook who created a second location of his Idaho Falls store, Town & Country Gardens.

The Idaho Falls location, founded in 1964, will remain in business. It continues to thrive and serve gardeners in the Idaho Falls area.

“It is with deep regret that I must close our Pocatello store, but I have no choice,” owner John Crook said. “We will deeply miss serving our loyal customers in Pocatello.”

A “Customer Appreciation Drawing” is part of the Store Closing Sale.

Customers can enter each time they shop for a chance to win a cast stone Woodland Double Birdbath valued at $350.
No purchase is necessary to enter.

The store will be closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, August 22nd – 24th to prepare for the sale.

The Store Closing Sale starts on Thursday, August 25th at 9:00 a.m. and will continue until everything has been liquidated.
