WORLEY — A man wanted for the murder of a 2-year-old was arrested in a remote cabin on Lake Coeur d’Alene where he was hiding from authorities.

Jason Obermiller, 32, allegedly killed Adalynn Hoyt on Sept. 13 in Spokane County. Obermiller was also wanted by the U.S. Marshals for a felony probation violation warrant.

Police found him at the cabin on Tuesday around noon after an observant neighbor called police when she saw a suspicious SUV.

KXLY reports deputies found a white SUV outside with a license plate that matched a one reported stolen out of Spokane.

When questioned by deputies, Obermiller reportedly gave them a fake name but a deputy recognized him from a police bulletin and the suspect admitted what his real name is.

Obermiller made his first court appearance in Kootenai County Wednesday and will be extradited back to Washington.
