REXBURG — The Rexburg Police Department is investigating an incident of vandalism that occurred prior to this weekend on a property owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

According to police reports, an outbuilding belonging to the Mormon Church at 2300 West block of 2000 South was vandalized with the words “F— Trump” spray painted in green.

Church members reported the incident to Rexburg police on Nov. 12.

Members then covered the graffiti with similar colored spray paint until the damage can be permanently fixed, according to Rexburg Police officials.

“Our Church buildings are places of worship and community gathering where all are welcome. We are saddened by the damage that has occurred at this location,” local church spokesman Merv Brown said. “At this point authorities have just begun their initial investigation, and all inquiries should be referred to them.”
