  Published at

IDAHO FALLS — An imminent flood warning has been issued for the Snake River in Bingham County for Tuesday, April 18.

The Snake is measuring at 10.5 feet, which is at flood stage. Minor lowland flooding is expected along sections of the river from Rose to Blackfoot and downstream from Blackfoot. Water may also seep into Jensens Grove, according to the National Weather Service. Officials advise caution near the river, as it is deceptively fast, cold and deadly.

The Portneuf River is on the rise again. It is still a foot above flood stage at 9.6 feet. Minor flooding is occurring along its banks and water is expected to rise above 10 feet by Wednesday causing moderate flooding. Significant flooding of agricultural land will occur near the Inkom and Blackrock area. Lowland flooding will occur along sections of the river in Pocatello from the Portnuef Gap to the Cheyenne Ave. Bridge and downstream of the concrete channel beginning at Sacajawea Park.

Additionally, a flood advisory is still in effect for the Bear River in Bear Lake County. The river remains elevated and is slightly above its banks from Montpelier to the Wyoming State Line. Some minor field and dirt road flooding is occurring near Pegram and Dingle.
