Utah boy’s elaborate scheme for more video game time goes viral

EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah — Every child wishes to get the ultimate pass to play more video games, and one Utah boy’s attempt to persuade his parents to let him game more has gone viral.
Seven-year-old Nathan Anderson recently went home with a note from “the school” to show his parents, according to Today. The note was written on 5-by-7 inch piece of paper, and his mother took a picture and uploaded it to Imgur last week.
The note, written in elementary school handwriting, informed Anderson’s parents, Lori and Jeff, that Nathan “has been doing good in all his classes” — well, except for video game class. It came with a big warning too.
“If he does not stay up all night playing video games, he will get kicked out of school!!!” the note read. It even gave his parents the option to allow Nathan to play on any platform of video games.
Lori Anderson told Buzzfeed that she found the note sitting on a table in their home. She said she asked Nathan about it and he had a smirk on his face but didn’t admit to anything, though she knew exactly what was going on. She took a photo of the note and sent it to Nathan’s second-grade teacher, who responded that Nathan had shown her the note earlier in the day and she thought it was hilarious.
The note may not have been official, but Lori Anderson said the creativity deserved some reward, which was an extra 30 minutes of video game time that day.
“It was Friday night, and I thought the note was funny and clever enough to give him a little extra time,” Anderson said.
