Fire near US 26 burns cars in Ririe field

RIRIE — A brush fire is burning near U.S. Highway 26 in Ririe.
The fire on the south side of the highway near the intersection with North Ferguson Road is burning multiple vehicles that were parked in a field. A small outbuilding is on fire, and a large shed is threatened.
Eastbound traffic is reduced to one lane.
The fire started around 6 p.m. The cause is unknown.
Central Fire and Idaho Falls firefighters are trying to put out the flames. Bonneville County Sheriff’s deputies and Idaho State Police have also responded.
The fire is in Bonneville County but is in Central Fire District.
