Rexburg police investigating after woman is found dead

REXBURG — Police are investigating the death of a 28-year-old woman who was found inside of her apartment Tuesday night.
Officers were called to the Village Community Gardens around 6:10 p.m.
Rexburg Police Capt. Randy Lewis said friends of the woman were planning to go to dinner with her. When she couldn’t be reached, the apartment manager entered the unit and discovered her body.
“Her friends last had contact with her Sunday night,” Lewis said. “We’re treating this as an unattended death. It doesn’t appear to be suspicious and we are investigating to see what happened.”
The woman’s name has not been released and the coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine how she died.
