Woman charged after she allegedly crashed her car into a home, ran away
Published at | Updated atPOCATELLO — Police say a 25-year-old woman crashed her car into home and ran away.
According to Pocatello Police, around 2 a.m. Friday, they got a report that a white passenger vehicle had crashed into a home in the 1500 block of South Second Avenue.
Witnesses said a female driver, later identified as Elise Larou Metz, was the only occupant of the vehicle and ran away. Police later located Metz a short distance away in the 1100 South Fifth Avenue.
Police discovered Metz was the registered owner of the vehicle. Metz was arrested after refusing to blow into a breathalyzer.
She is held in the Bannock County Jail on misdemeanor charges of second offense DUI and failing to notify a property owner of an accident, according to jail officials. Metz is held on a $1,264 bond.
Police say no one was hurt in the crash. They have not released an estimate on the damages to the house.
Metz has a previous DUI conviction from February 2013.
