Charges added against man accused of murdering woman and her unborn child

DRIGGS — A man already facing two charges of first-degree murder is now also facing a burglary charge.

Erik Ohlson is accused of murdering Driggs resident Jennifer Naley and her unborn child in July 2016. Last week, a charge of felony burglary enhanced with the use of a firearm was added.

“The reason that it’s happened now is the court had ordered the parties to mediate the case,” Teton County Prosecutor, Billie Siddoway, told EastIdahoNews.com. “We did that earlier this month and the mediation was not successful.”

Siddoway said they are focusing on preparing for trial now.

“That was one of the things that we wanted to make sure had happened — that our allegations and charges against the defendant were full and complete as we start entering the pretrial phase,” she said.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 31 in Bingham County; however, Siddoway said that the hearing will likely be pushed back to Nov. 30.
