Horse decapitated after being hit by truck on Bonneville Co. road

IDAHO FALLS — A horse was decapitated after being hit by a truck on Bellin Road Monday morning.

The crash happened at the corner of Bellin Road and Woodland Lane around 5:30 a.m.

Bonneville County Sheriff Sgt. Bryan Lovell says several horses had escaped a nearby property and were in the road when the incident occurred.

The truck was damaged but the driver was unharmed, according to witnesses. The horse was killed on impact.

Bellin Road was closed for approximately two and a half hours while emergency crews investigated.
