15 doctors launching unique health care model in east Idaho

IDAHO FALLS — A team of 15 doctors is coming together to provide a new and unique health care model in east Idaho.

Dr. Fahim Rahim says people are tired of paying exorbitant amounts of money to drive all over town to receive care that, in many cases, does not even fix the problem.

Rahim says the Integrated Care Clinics, which is currently under construction, will be a one-stop-shop that provides quality medical care at a lower cost.

“We will have a team of specialists — heart doctors, kidney doctors, along with Orthopedic, spinal and pain surgeons (and others) all under one roof,” Rahim tells EastIdahoNews.com.

Rahim says by having all the staff and resources in one location, it will improve the communication between doctors and patients, the quality of care patients receive, as well as convenience and cost to the patient.

Construction crews are building the Integrated Care Clinics on the corner of Valencia and Sunnyside in Idaho Falls, in front of Fairwinds Retirement Community. Rahim says a second clinic is in the works for Pocatello as well.

“There are very few options available in Pocatello, so this clinic is greatly needed,” Rahim says.

Naeem Rahim, Fahim’s brother, said he feels doctors in this area do a great job in the current healthcare environment. Naeem feels the current system needs to change.

“Competition is a good thing. Having more options is an excellent thing,” says Naeem.

Dr. Rob Johnson is a spinal surgeon at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot, but will soon be seeing patients at the Integrated Care Clinics in Idaho Falls. Johnson says he is excited to treat patients the way he feels they should be treated.

“The healthcare industry is very disjointed. In order for us to provide the kind of care we want to provide patients, (every specialist involved in the patient’s treatment) needs to be on the same page,” Johnson tells us.

The Integrated Care Clinics is expected to be completed in October 2018.
