City of Idaho Falls proposes speed limit changes on 3 roads

The following is a news release from the city of Idaho Falls.

IDAHO FALLS — The City of Idaho Falls Traffic Safety Committee is considering speed limit changes on three roadways in Idaho Falls. Public input is encouraged.

The committee will meet next Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 3:00 p.m. at the Police Training Annex building located at 740 Park Avenue.

The recommendations are based on data collected, as well as evaluations by the Public Works Department to determine appropriate speeds for the following roadways:

-Holmes Avenue, 17th Street to Sunnyside Road. The proposed speed limit change is from 35 mph to 40 mph.

-John Adams Parkway, Holmes Avenue to 25th East. The proposed speed limit change is from 25 mph to 30 mph.

-Elm Street, Yellowstone Avenue to S. Boulevard. The speed limit in this location is currently not posted. The proposed posting is 30 mph.
