Rough roads throughout eastern Idaho Thursday morning

IDAHO FALLS — Winter is back in eastern Idaho this weekend. Snow is again in the forecast and temperatures will be lower than we’ve seen recently.

As of Thursday morning, no major winter weather advisories have been issued, however, light snow is forecast throughout eastern Idaho for most of the day. The snow is expected to taper off in the late afternoon, but it will return again on Friday and possibly on Saturday and Sunday.

Temperature highs are expected in the mid-20s to mid-30s with lows in the 10s and 20s.

Travel is already being impacted by snow and ice. A large number of eastern Idaho highways are listed as in difficult or fair conditions as a result of snowy conditions.

  • U.S. Highway 20 between Rexburg and the Montana border
  • Idaho Highway 87 between Henrys Lake and the Montana border
  • Idaho Highway 47 between Ashton and Warm River
  • Idaho Highway 33 between Tetonia and the Wyoming border
  • Idaho Highway 31 between Swan Valley and the Wyoming border
  • Idaho Highway 34 between Soda Spring and the Wyoming border
  • U.S. Highway 30 between McCammon and the Wyoming border

Fair conditions

  • Interstate 15 between Idaho Falls and Inkom
  • U.S. Highway 91 between Idaho Falls and Pocatello
  • U.S. Highway 26 between Blackfoot and Atomic City
  • Idaho Highway 33 between Rexburg and the Wyoming border
  • Idaho Highway 28 between Terreton and Salmon
  • Idaho Highway 29 between Leadore and the Montana border
  • U.S. Highway 93 between Challis and the Montana border
  • U.S. Highway 89 between the Utah border and the Wyoming border
