BONNEVILLE COUNTY — An Idaho Falls man, wanted on several outstanding warrants, was arrested early Sunday morning on multiple charges.

Christian J. Hernandez, 21, was in a vehicle on the 2800 block of East Lincoln Road around 2:50 a.m. The female driver saw Bonneville County Sheriff deputies and yelled for help, according to a news release.

As deputies tried to detain Hernandez and investigate, he refused to obey commands and tried to get away, investigators say. Deputies were finally able to restrain him and found drug paraphernalia and heroin on the ground by him that he allegedly tried to discard.

They also discovered Hernandez had a semi-automatic pistol, marijuana and cocaine, according to investigators.

Deputies learned Hernandez was wanted on five outstanding misdemeanor warrants in Idaho Falls and Bonneville County. He was arrested on felony charges of drug trafficking, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.

The woman yelling for help was not injured and released at the scene. Analysis of the drugs showed there was round three grams of heroin, one gram of cocaine and 27 grams of marijuana.
