Winter weather advisory issued in high elevation areas
Published atIDAHO FALLS — The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for several higher elevation areas.
Between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday, snow is expected in parts of Fremont, Teton, Clark, and the rural western parts Madison and Bonneville counties.
Lower elevations areas may see some scattered rain during the same period.
Within the advisory area, snow accumulation of two to three inches is expected with up to eight inches predicted in some areas.
NWS officials warn U.S. Highway 20 corridor from Ashton Hill to Montana will be dangerous, in addition to Idaho Highway 87 between Targhee, Raynolds and Pine Creek Pass.
Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
