Woman hit by car at McDonald’s in Chubbuck; suspect arrested

CHUBBUCK — An elderly woman was hit by a McDonald’s employee around 8 a.m. Wednesday in the restaurant’s parking lot at 4260 Yellowstone Ave.

Chubbuck Police Sgt. Sasser said after the employee, who has not been identified, hit the woman with her vehicle she backed into a parking space. That’s when a customer used their own car to box in the suspect’s car so she couldn’t leave.

According to the police, the suspect then got out of the car and went inside the McDonald’s, but when police arrived, she left the premises.

The suspect eventually came back and was arrested by police. She is expected to be charged with misdemeanor leaving the scene of an accident.

The woman who was hit was checked by paramedics and later left. She did not need to be taken to the hospital.

Police expect to release the suspect’s name later today.
