Fire in Lewisville causes $10,000 in damage

LEWISVILLE – A railcar caught fire in Lewisville, causing $10,000 in damage Saturday night.

Carl Anderson, the fire chief for Central Fire District, tells EastIdahoNews.com the fire occurred in the 400 block of 3600 E. some time before 10 p.m.

A farmer was burning a ditch in close proximity and it spread to the railcar and a nearby barn. There was minor damage to the siding of the barn but the railcar is a total loss, along with the items being stored inside.

A motorcycle and some mountain bikes were being stored in the barn.

No one was injured.

The fire is out and crews have cleared the scene.

The Menan, Lewisville and Rigby stations responded to the fire.
