City crews working to repair water main breaks in Idaho Falls

IDAHO FALLS — Crews in Idaho Falls are working to repair breaks in two separate water mains caused by frost.
The first break occurred at 1st Street and Easy Street, near Winco, early Sunday afternoon. It didn’t cause any interruption to water service, but did reduce lanes of traffic as crews worked to fix the problem.
The second break was in the 1100 block of Susanne Avenue. It briefly cut off water for nearby residents, however, water service was restored at around 4:30 p.m.
City spokeswoman Kerry Hammon said both water mains have been repaired, but crews will be backfilling holes in the roads until about 6 p.m. Sunday.
