PLEASANT GROVE, Utah — A Draper woman faces multiple felonies after she texted nude photos of herself to one of her teenage students last month, according to court documents.

Brooke Armijo, 37, was charged Wednesday in 4th District Court in Utah County with four counts of dealing in harmful materials to a minor by an adult, all third-degree felonies, according to court documents.

Between Jan. 4 and 6, Armijo texted nude photos of herself to the 17-year-old boy, who was her student at Spectrum Academy in Pleasant Grove, according to the documents. She also sent a video to the boy showing her performing a sex act on herself, the court documents allege.

The boy received and viewed the photos and video, the documents state.

The boy has autism and is high-functioning, according to the court documents. Spectrum Academy is a charter school primarily for students with autism, according to the documents.

Friday evening, Brad Nelson, director of Spectrum Academy, issued the following statement to KSL.com:

“Spectrum Academy staff, upon learning of the allegations against Ms. Armijo, immediately notified law enforcement of the information the staff members had received and immediately placed the teacher on administrative leave. While the school left the matter to law enforcement for further investigation, the teacher has not, at any time since, been allowed to return to the school or have access to students. We can confirm that the teacher is no longer employed by Spectrum.”
