IDAHO FALLS — After an Idaho Falls man was arrested on a probation violation, police say they discovered over 1,000 images of child pornography on his tablet.

Scott Charles Wilson, 35, is charged with three counts of felony child exploitation. If found guilty, he could spend up to 30 years in prison and $150,000 in fines.

Bonneville County Probation arrested Wilson on Sept. 11 for violating parole when he continued using methamphetamine, according to court documents. Wilson’s family gave detectives a tablet belonging to Wilson and investigators say an internet browser was open showing sexually explicit websites.

Officers say they discovered 1,471 images of children as young as one forced into sexually explicit activities with adults. When confronted by detectives, Wilson allegedly admitted to downloading and looking at child pornography.

“Scott said that he is bi-polar and that he was using drugs. He told me that one of the things that he does when he is high is look at child pornography,” an officer noted in court documents.

Wilson was booked into the Bonneville County Jail on the probation violation and child exploitation charges. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 22 before Magistrate Judge Steven Alan Gardner.
