12 free Wi-Fi hotspots set up in eastern Idaho, western Wyoming

IDAHO FALLS — Silver Star Communications has set up 12 free Wi-Fi hotspots in eastern Idaho and western Wyoming to help families needing internet access.
“We want to do what we can to support the communities we live and work in during this difficult time,” said Paul Petersen, Silver Star Director of Sales & Customer Service. “If you don’t have a place to access the internet for work or school, we hope that these locations are helpful in keeping business and learning moving forward.”
The outdoor locations support physical distancing and users are encouraged to work in their cars or be dressed appropriately for the weather.
The Wi-Fi locations are not permanent and are controlled sessions, meaning each connection is speed limited to allow for multiple concurrent users.
The hotspots can be found at the following locations:
- Idaho Falls – located at 890 Oxford Dr, Idaho Falls, ID 83401. Park in the Linden Elementary School parking lot.
- Rexburg – located at 478 N 2nd E. Access this hotspot within the Albertson’s and (old) Walmart parking lots.
- Driggs – located at 262 East Ross Avenue
- Victor – at Sherman Park
- Tetonia – located 6309 North Main Street
- Soda Springs – located at 550 E 2nd South
- Irwin – located near the Post Office and elementary school at 3911 Old Irwin Rd.
- Thayne, WY – located at 168 Moser Ave.
- Alta, WY – located at 440 West Alta Ski Hill Road
- Jackson, WY – located at the Teton County Fairgrounds
- Star Valley Ranch, WY – located at 199 Vista Drive
- Alpine, WY – located at the Alpine Branch Library
