Secret Santa surprises grocery store worker with check to help care for her disabled father

Secret Santa is back and this Christmas is bigger than ever!

The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local man gift more than $500,000 this holiday season. A lot more. Secret Santa is a real person who wants to remain anonymous and hopes to help as many people as he can.

We will be surprising deserving people and families every day from now until Christmas with gifts unique to their circumstances.

Ashley Rasmussen has been working around the clock to help take care of her father. He has struggled with multiple surgeries and ended up having his foot amputated.

Ashley works full time at Broulim’s but will take breaks to run home and help him out of bed to go to the bathroom, get something to eat and help him around the house. She has used up all of her vacation time taking him to appointments at the hospital and has used all of her savings on hospital bills since he is no longer able to work.

Their home is currently not wheelchair accessible and Ashley has to help him around. Her bathroom is falling apart and needs new flooring so he can easily go in and out.

Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News elves to surprise Ashley during a recent shift at Broulim’s. Watch the video above to see what happened!
