A life-changing Secret Santa gift for a special man on Thanksgiving Day

  Published at

Secret Santa is back and this Christmas is bigger than ever!

The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local man gift more than $500,000 this holiday season. A lot more. Secret Santa is a real person who wants to remain anonymous and hopes to help as many individuals in our community as he can.

We will be surprising deserving people and families every day from now until Christmas with gifts unique to their circumstances.

Cesar Ibanez has a medical condition similar to ALS that prevents his muscles from working properly. He is confined to an electric wheelchair and his limited use of only his hands.

Despite limitations, Cesar earned a degree in biology at BYU-Idaho and is now teaching in the same department that he earned his degree in. Cesar has limited resources for health care but he has an incredibly positive outlook on life because of how kind and compassionate he is. He never uses his condition as an excuse because he recognizes that he can accomplish great things with his powerful intellect and hard work. He has made the choice to not feel bad for himself but to make the most of life and to lift others around him.

Cesar could use a new electric wheelchair. The one he currently has is very uncomfortable and very old. The cushions are very worn which exposes Cesar to parts of the metal frame of the chair.

Secret Santa heard about Cesar and asked the East Idaho News elves to deliver a special early Christmas gift to him. We surprised him on Thanksgiving Day with this life-changing gift! Watch the video above!
