SALMON – A Salmon man has died after the pickup he was a passenger in crashed north of Ellis.

Idaho State Police say on Monday around 8 p.m., Craig B. Larsen, 22, of Salmon, was driving northbound in a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado on U.S. Highway 93 with his passenger, Conner P. McGarrity, 22, also of Salmon.

“While negotiating a left curve, Larsen drove off the right side of the roadway,” according to an ISP news release. “Larsen then overcorrected and drove across both lanes of travel. The vehicle went down the embankment, overturned and came to rest in the Salmon River.”

Both men were taken by ground ambulance to Steele Memorial Medical Center in Salmon, and McGarrity was later transported by air ambulance to a hospital in Missoula, Montana.

On Tuesday afternoon, ISP announced McGarrity had died. His next have kin has been notified.
