ORIGINAL STORY:

IDAHO FALLS – A 13-year-old girl from Idaho Falls ran away from home and her family is trying to locate her.

Torrie Duke tells EastIdahoNews.com she hasn’t heard from her stepdaughter Katylynn Johnson since Friday night at 10:30.

“Last time we saw her, we were taking her to a friend’s house to have a sleepover (on Thursday). The last contact we had with her was Friday night at 10:30 when she called to say goodnight,” Duke says.

Duke says Katylynn and another girl got caught doing something wrong around 1:30 Saturday morning and ran away. The GPS locator on Katylynn’s phone has been turned off and they don’t believe the phone is still in her possession.

“There’s messages where she’s told friends that she’s thrown the phone away,” says Duke.

Duke says this type of behavior isn’t like Katylynn. She is offering a $1,000 reward for anyone who finds her.

Duke says she was traveling in a pickup with her friend and may be headed to Utah, the Boise area or Twin Falls. The truck is a pewter 2004 GMC extended cab with slightly tinted windows and a toolbox on the back. The license plate number is 8B GU428.

Katylynn is 5 foot 3 and weighs 140 pounds. She has dark brown hair and blue eyes and braces on her teeth. Duke says she also has a scratch on her left cheek.

She was last seen wearing ripped jeans with a white short-sleeve ruffled belly shirt.

“I just want my baby back,” Duke says.

Jessica Clements with Idaho Falls Police Department confirms a police report has been filed and there is an active search for Katylynn.
