IDAHO FALLS — A boy walked away with minor injuries after he hit a gallon of gasoline with a riding lawnmower which then caught fire in a driveway.

It happened Tuesday around 3:45 p.m. off of Marbrisa Lane. Idaho Falls Fire Department spokeswoman Kerry Hammon says the fire spread from the lawnmower to a nearby Chevy pickup truck and utility trailer.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire before it could reach the home. The only property damage was to the grass and shrubs.

Hammon says an estimated $50,000-$60,000 was lost in damages to the lawnmower, truck and trailer.

The boy had minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital. There were no other injuries.

Part of Marbrisa Lane was shut down by the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office for a while but is now back open.
